Find someone whose beats you like. Ask them what
they used.

If you're into beats, remixing and djing stuff
then consider Ableton Live 5, I saw a tutorial
and it looked pretty easy to use.
A friend of mine uses it as his main DAW to the
point that he rarely uses Sonar because he says
Live 5 is just way easier to get into and put
ideas together quickly, it supports 32 bit 192
Khz resolution and has vsti and midi support.
It's famous for beat-matching tempos and
crossfading as well as putting clips into
sequences (playlist editor but easier to use than
cubase's playlist etc) and triggering parts by
pressing user defined keys etc. (good for djing
live or messing around at home)
You can download a free demo and watch the
tutorials to see if it interests you.
