I had a court-ordered-drug-and-alcohol-treatment therapist request I do it for her home phone answering machine a long while back. F**king ex-security guard from my old art college turned city cop pulls along side my car, sees it's me, pulls me over, searches my car without consent, rips open an old file box (the only thing I still had of my Grandfather's), finds a strawberry-sized baggie of herb, and for the next seven years, they have me jumping through hoops and paying out the butt for things like "help" with my terrible "problem"... Oh, yeah, but like I said, I do a pretty good Santa laugh.

zedsalt	Date: October 12, 2007 @ 11:00 AM Y'know, several years later, I was picking my youngest sister up to drive her to work, and she pointed at the t.v. and said, "Does she look familiar?" It was the judge that "handled" my case, and by "handled" I mean, kept prodding the arresting officer repeatedly to say exactly what would be required to prosecute me until he used the "right" words rather than the true ones and selectively ignoring evidence until, finally, retiring to her chambers (for about 1 1/2X as long as the trial up to that point) to review the testimony to see if juridiction had been established, only to return and say, "Yep, jurisdiction was established in there somewhere."
zedsalt	Date: October 12, 2007 @ 11:07 AM Oh, and the reason the judge was on international t.v. news was that she had prosecuted a state police officer for...I don't know...maybe a DWB (Driving While Black in Carmel, Indiana). In Carmel City Court 2, a young black fellow driving a really nice car is considered "probable cause" for search, seizure, and arrest. So is having a Grateful Dead or Phish bumper sticker, apparently. My lawyer, familiar with that court, used the fact that I had no such decals on my car as support for the idea that the officer didn't have a legal reason to pull me over. Going to see a concert in Noblesville, IN? Steer clear of Carmel.
