Electronica Collab [Four-20-Three Productions]

four20three	Date: January 24, 2004 @ 1:28 AM Four-20-Three Productions is more or less a project than a production agency. I'm looking for any electronica artist willing to work with up to 5 other artists (total of 6 artists - that number is including yourself) to make a few good songs. There is no signing required, just post and let me know, and i'll send a note your way. You do not have to be the best (though i would like to have at least one of us be REALLY good), but you have to have a good taste of electronica music. I will be reviewing your uploads when you post to see if your style meets the criteria. I will review all of your songs, but I would appreciate you tell me which song you like the most of your own. That i can get a feel for your style. I'd like a mixture of styles as well, from club beat compositions, to morbid/dark gothic type. These songs will not be short in length, i'm hoping with 6 artists we will be able to easily accomplish a long song since each artists will be contributing a section rather than on instrument on most songs. All artists must be able to render their work in at LEAST 256Kbit but I definately prefer 320Kbit. More discussion on quality will be given when I send the note. Once again, please post here if you are interested in attending this project, I feel it will be a great success. If you're wondering, I will be one of the 6 artists in some cases (only some), so i will probably accept 6 of you who want to join. So in all actuality, we will be having 7 total artists in some cases, other cases will consist of 6, because i really have to get in the mood of songs to contribute a good piece to it, or i feel my piece is ruining the song. Final note, I want all types of electronica, anything goes, from people who like to compose rock riffed electronicas, to ones that do club beat types, to ones that do dark/morbid, to ones that do atmospheric. agent1786	Date: January 25, 2004 @ 7:10 AM (Celd - only on the pacific coast is "420" the call sign... it's not a federal policie call number) Here's the truth of the "420" term including the police code story you said (which i'm not saying isn't true... because it is in California area): "Conventional wisdom: The most common tale is that 420 is the police radio code or criminal code (and therefore the police "call") in certain part(s) of California (e.g. in Los Angeles or San Francisco) for having spotted someone consuming cannabis publicly, i.e. "pot smoking in progress"; that local cannabis users picked up on the code and began celebrating the number temporally (esp. 4:20 a.m., 4:20 p.m., and April 20); that the number became nationally popularized in the late 1980s and, more ferverently, in the early- to mid-1990s; and is colloquially applied to a variety of relaxed and/or inspired contexts, including not only pot consumption but also a "good time" more generally (in contrast to the drug war surrounding). Conventions are legends: 420 is not police radio code for anything, anywhere. Checks of criminal codes (including those of the City of San Francisco, the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, the State of California, and the federal penal code) suggest that the origin is neither Californian nor federal (the two best guesses). The term 420 was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. ``Waldo Steve,'' a member of the group who now owns a business in San Francisco, says the Waldos would salute each other in the school hallway and say ``420 Louis!'' The term was one of many invented by the group, but it was the one that caught on. ``It was just a joke, but it came to mean all kinds of things, like `Do you have any?' or `Do I look stoned?' '' he said. ``Parents and teachers wouldn't know what we were talking about.''
