Cutting and pasting the same song comment.

DaveWL	Date: July 19, 2005 @ 10:45 AM Anybody get 1 of the following 2 song comments recently "This was great man, I don't know if you remember me, but anyway I have a new song I definitely want u to check out and spread the word about , if you feel its worthy" OR "I love this song! hey, can you check out my newest song, and spread the gospel about it, if you feel it's worthy!!" I think about 30+ of you did, these comments were all posted within a few minutes of each other. As far as I am concerned this is the shittiest way of promoting your own music – by pretending to have listened to other peoples music, and cutting and pasting the same comment. I’m not naming names but I say to the person that made these comments - If you want people to listen to your music, earn their respect don’t insult their intelligence. This is a community and people eventually work out what’s going on.

FraDonaghy	Date: July 19, 2005 @ 4:52 PM Yeah I got that too and why not name names, it was klindsay I knew right away that it stank, and I'm glad no-one else fell for this cheap trick I would have listened if he'd noted or shouted me, but now I don't plan to ever go to his page.

GTOriginal	Date: July 20, 2005 @ 9:05 AM I on't know... I try to be respectful and nice to all, but a lot of the music I listen to comes from people I don't know all that well. If I had a respect-earning screening process going I'd miss out on lots of good stuff. On the other hand there are many people who avoid my music because I have comitted the crime of being sensitive about their opinions, and they have chosen to omit my tunes from their day as a result. How very sad. You won't catch my stuff on any favorite lists any time soon, that's for sure. Perhaps one day after the population turns over, I can earn the respect of others enough to get 'em to listen, or even shout a hello without me asking them to. One can only dream & hope. But this bit about pretending to listen only to fish for comments is underhanded and wrong in my opinion. Why not just ask for listens like I do? Oh, wait.. But even so, it's just low.
Rodrica	Date: July 20, 2005 @ 12:15 PM People do all kinds of things to draw attention to themselves and promote their music...it tends to go with the territory of "creating" anything that you want to share I guess. Yes, sometimes the shallow cut and paste jobs are disappointing...but at least it's done openly so that everyone can see what they're doing and judge for themselves how to react to it Just a personal thing...but I have more of a problem with those who act coy and pretend they're NOT promoting themselves, than people who are upfront about it

furiousBall	Date: July 20, 2005 @ 12:24 PM that is totally lame, copying comments and pasting...man, i'd pee on them in effigy if possible. as imemmine points out, being a subscriber has it's benefits, you can clean that crap off your page. but if a non-subscriber needs their page decrapped, contact an admin.
Rodrica	Date: July 20, 2005 @ 3:38 PM I can definitely recommend Sins and Bow's music pages Going back to the original post...I also had this comment in my comments box...but the situation kinda resolved itself because the guy's songs aren't streaming properly anyway so he's now a victim of his own publicity campaign
