Why???

evansorchid	Date: July 4, 2008 @ 3:13 AM Why is re-subscribing to this site so exhausting? Everytime I do it it's like trying to figure out how to install a new motherboard on my computer or something. I mean I'm not trying to complain and I'm not suppling this site with a false credit card number or something. You would think that after two years they would make it easier to re-subscribe.....but hell.....that would defeat the purpose. ...I mean what the heck does this mean? *The email address or credit card has already been added to a PayPal account. If you have already opened a PayPal account, enter your email address and password into PayPal Checkout and click Log In. Otherwise, enter a different email address or credit card number to complete your purchase.* Let's take the first sentence......"The email address of credit card has already been added to a PayPal account". Duh, that's the same avenue I used last time I tried to do this..... Then the third sentence....."Otherwise, enter a different email address or credit card number to complete your purchase". Oh yeah....that'd make it easier......then I'd have to register another credit card number with PayPal......I don't think so. So the key apparantly lies in the second sentence: "If you have already opened a PayPal account, enter your email address and password into PayPal Checkout and click Log in". Well, I apparantly created a password that I don't remember because now I have to click the 'don't remember password' link and have it sent to my email....whick routes me back through to the PayPal site where I have to verify my home address, phone number and mother's maiden name. What was I doing again?....oh yeah...trying to re-subscribe. Which will be activated typically about 5 days from the date of purchase. Let's see....today is July 4th....so I'll probably get access to my account no later than July 9th...which is this Wednesday....but they start counting your subscription time by the "date of purchase" NOT the "date of activation". so why am I re-subscribing again?.....because I love this site?....... Oh, and I'm not complaining, Mom........just venting.
ShadowMom	Date: July 4, 2008 @ 7:15 AM Complaining, venting, whatever you want to call it-- you have every right to let us know when something bothers you. And if you don't tell us what needs to be fixed-- we can't fix it. I don't have anything to do with this, but I think the people who can make it easier are sure to see it.
SimonWaldram	Date: July 4, 2008 @ 9:49 AM I always get a message saying that the card I am using and the address I have entered do not match. I have never had this problem anywhere else and I do not understand how such an error could occur. Admin were not able to help me with this, which is a shame, because if the problem was sorted out I would defiantely be a subscriber again.
leedsquietman	Date: July 4, 2008 @ 3:11 PM This also happened to me, but Leflaw or Tracy etc. managed to override it one time. However, the next subscription had the same problem and they were seemingly unavailable to help in spit of my requests at that time, so I went the PAYPAL route, grudgingly. Paypal has plenty of issues of it's own. For example I can't get verified because I lost a credit card statement with the verification transactions and even though I passed all the million security checks they ultimately said 'request a copy of the visa statement from your bank' after an hour of security questions, which p*ssed me off, so I told them to disembowel themselves with a rusty chainsaw. And when I tried to set up a business paypal account, it would not let me set up the bank account because it's a joint account with my wife, who had already used it in setting up her account. When I explained this, they just said 'you need to set up another bank account' - I wonder how many married or long time partners with joint accounts have had this problem setting up 2 seperate paypal accounts, whoever doesit first gets in, the other gets rejected .... AAArgghhh !
SimonWaldram	Date: July 4, 2008 @ 7:39 PM A while ago I was the victim of credit card fraud. Someone used my name, email address and CC details to set up an account with PayPal. My bank sorted the card and money issues straight away, but I could not get the fraudulently created PayPal account closed because whenever I emailed them about it I got a reply saying: "In order to resolve issues with your account you must first log into the site". How the hell could I do that when I didn't set up the account in the first place?! It has now thankfully been deleted due to "suspicious activity". Gee, I wonder what that could have been? Suffice to say, I'm now as careful as I can be with my personal details and I wouldn't touch PayPal with a 50 foot pole!

But, it apparently did catch someone's attention because it only took the admins TWO days to activate my subscriber status, which is definitely a record. Which is all I really wanted to accomplish in the first place.
