More Genres

While I'm quite liking this site, thus far.
I think it could REALLY benefit from some
additional genres.. as the one's currenlty
offered are quite limiting to an
Experimental/noise/ambient sort such as myself
"electronic" is about the only thing that at all
fits. But that lumps me in with every Techno,
Dance, House and whatever artist that shares
nothing whatsoever with my style. It's not
somuch about overclassifying music. But so
people browsing for music they like have an
easier time finding it without having to wade
through tons of stuff they can't stand.

rumor has it this improvement is planned, though. :bouncy:" id="49823">i agree completely.. i have nothing in common
with the genre they call "alternative" these
days. (they being music listeners in general,
not dmusic specificly.)
rumor has it this improvement is planned, though.

mp3.com have way too many genres...they just make crap up. By the way...what the hell is Shoe Gazer??" id="49949">I've been here for a while also...and while world
music describes most of my stuff...there are a
lot of people including myself that could
benefit from a broader range of genres. But I
think everyone should keep in mind...places like
mp3.com
have way too many genres...they just
make crap up. By the way...what the hell is Shoe
Gazer??

AMG does. We may keep the genres somewhat specific, but at the same time enable genre "styles." ;)" id="49984">I think what we may do is something similar to
what
AMG
does. We may keep the genres somewhat
specific, but at the same time enable genre
"styles."

sub genres. cool
but where to draw the line...
the last thing you
want is like 30 different sub genres for
electronic, thats ridiculous
and as for this
music i hear recently called Trance... its just
mellow music with dance beats, trance music isnt
about bouncing up and down at 140bpm, its more
ambient IMHO its just been hijacked like so many
other words in that area.
