Cubase
Cubase hates my MIDI

I feel lame for even having to ask this question.
I've been recording with MIDI for ten years, for
#@!& sake. However...
I am currently attempting to work with Cubase SX.
I am running Win XP home media edition, and i am
using a Tascam US-122 USB soundcard box. My
problem is that i don't seem to be able to get
Cubase to recognize any MIDI data from the
US-122. I'm sending from a Korg X3, and i've
been using the Korg for years, so knowing the
settings on the keyboard isn't really the problem
here. The US-122 is indicating that MIDI data is
being detected, but when i try to record it into
Cubase, i get nothing.
I am only posting here because if i re-read any
of the MIDI chapters in any of my manuals, i'm
afraid that my eyeballs will start bleeding
profusely.
any advice?

I know someone else here that is experiencing
problems with the Tascam US-122. That may very
well be your problem----though I personally know
little about it!

Great. Am i going to have to pull out my MidiMan
4x4? BAH. if it SAYS MIDI in and MIDI out, it
should deliver.
I am going to go into a corner and vent steam for
a while.

Go to cubase.net and search for it, there are
issues with your soundcard which I believe have
some fairly easy fixes, also look make sure
ignore midi port filter fix is implemented.
Oh and I assume you're running a legit copy of
cubase, any non-legit versions can come with
extra issues including MIDI glitching and
drop-outs and you won't get the tech support at
cubase.net or steinberg, obviously.
