I wondered how you folks fared, especially there
at work (Jus' is the Helpful Hardware Man in
Nappanee). I figured if the store was at all able
to do business right now, it was probably a very,
very busy place.
My bud, Joel...several miles south and west of
Nappanee...saw his walls start to breathe and
headed for the hallway. When he went back into
his room, the first thing that got his attention
was how many stars he could see for how cloudy it
had been. His ceiling was on his floor, and that
part of the roof was in the backyard, on the
other side of some approx. 20 ft. tall trees.

Joel's father was on t.v. last p.m. I forget how
many people they said showed up to help with the
harvest, but it involved 15 combines and 4 grain
trucks, not to mention a place to store the
pickin's.
This is a small-minded, gossipy, backward little
place, but when someone needs help, something
wonderful usually happens.

i was actually out at the bar when that tornado
came through, being that i live in elkhart, i
thought all was well, except for the heavy rain
and wind. then the next day i see on the news
that nappanee was destroyed, it was crazy. you
never think something like this can happen to
you, or so close to you. its sort of chilling to
think about really, that all this destruction
happend not even an hour away from where you live.
