I load a sample but I cant hear it???

jeremy4444	Date: March 22, 2005 @ 1:33 AM Hi there, im new to fruity loops but plan on becoming rich and famous through it. However, unrealistic ambitions aside, I load a sample into my pattern generator and I cant hear it??? Ive tried many things, cant fix it. Some samples work and some dont. Help!!!!
pog	Date: March 22, 2005 @ 4:25 AM I have seen copies of version 4 floating around the net that have a lot of samples not working.... they do this because it makes the download smaller. One solution is to get a copy of version 3 and copy the samples across to replace the broken ones. Another solution is to purchase it where possible. The only other thing that I can think of is if you try and use wav samples from the net that are in the wrong format (there are a couple of didffernt types of wav format). If you have files that won't load, try loading them into something like cooledit and re-save them as 16 bit wav files.

XxLikquidxX	Date: March 22, 2005 @ 8:35 PM You Are Using The Warez Version Of FL Studio. This Version Does Not Have All The Samples In The Pack. Seeing As FL Studio 5.X Is Out. You Can Go To The FL Studio Site & Download The Samples From The Downloads Section. Putting These Samples Into The Correct Directories Will Fix This Problem. FL Studio Is Highly Capable Of Making "Professional" Sounding Productions. Software Producing Products Have Quickly Caught Up To Expensive Hardware And Will Soon Surpass It. Deapending On The Vst Plugins You Use, Will Make The Difference Between A Amatuer And A Professional Sound. Also Use Of Compression & Mastering Would Obviously Also Come Into The Field.

loxal	Date: June 10, 2005 @ 8:18 AM Funny you should mention this, i was using someone elses computer which i originally installed fruity on, so when i got a new computer i had to copy the files from one to another rather than installin it on my new computer, because my disc has gone walkies... now nearly all of the samples dont work, when i manually find them in windows explorere and try to play them it says file corrupt any ideas apart from reinatalling???
orgasmotron	Date: June 11, 2005 @ 1:16 AM same thing happened to me when i fried my harddrive. instead of copying the installation for fruity i just copied the whole folder to a cd then when i put it on my new comp a bunch of the samples won't work. i think they are encoded in that ogg vorbis format, and i can't find any codec for making them work in fruity. only solution: download new samples. they'll probably sound better anyways.

orgasmotron	Date: June 13, 2005 @ 12:09 AM try using whatever you use to steal the rest of your software. lets say hypothetically i used kazaa for less then legal reasons, i might just happen to accidentally search for drum samples and find dozens of zipped drum sample archives for pretty much any drum set i wanted. or try looking online, despite popular belief you can get good drum samples online.
