Anyone have any vocoder information for getting a
basic user able to utiilize the vocoder function?
Also, would the vocoder function using a basic
mic input (as in a recorder built into a laptop)
or would it require an external mic source (as in
an actualy microphone)?

As far as I know, there are one or two vocoder
tutorials and one template already set up, at
least on my system, though I don't use FL much.
I just do the wave file first and feed it through
the vocoder. That way I can keep adjusting it
without redoing anything.
Look in Data\Projects\Tutorial for files with
"vocoder" in the title.
May depend on your version, though.

Shit, I always mess up the vocoder sound, is it
all about the synths through what it is played or
are there any toher tips/tricks?

One time when I just messed around with it for
awhile, I got some amazing sessions. I can't
remember what I did, but I never again came even
close to duplicating the sound. What I got (or
thought I got) was my clear voice (NOT vocoded)
with a completely different, clear voice (also
seemingly not actually vocoded) on the other
channel. Heck, the other voice, which was
deeper, even had an American (Detroit) accent and
I was then trying to use the wet output only and
somehow messed it up and never got that
particular sound back again.
Or maybe I was dreaming. It just seemed a bit
too weird.
