Gearing up then...

Ok, I've read many of these past forums trying to
glean info on hardware and I'm ready to ask my
own questions. How does everyone feel about the
Toneprt from line 6? Also, I would like one mic
for acoustic and vocal recording. I prefer
better acoustic resording since by voice sucks.
Any other suggestions are welcome, thank you!

Toneport from line 6 - looks OK, I have never
used one. I do have 2 Pod Pro Racks - their stuff
is well made. If this is in your budget and it
does what you need - then do it.

Mic is a different thing. That will also depend
on budget, whether you want a condenser and if so
you'll need a preamp. Or whether you just want a
dynamic, which won't be as good in the studio,
but doesn’t require a preamp although you would
still benefit from having one.
Asking someone here about gear purchase is a good
idea – but without knowing what gear you already
have, your budget restraints, and your intended
use – the usefulness of out answers will vary and
maybe even add to the confusion.
