routing vocoders into effect parameters

if we took a vocoder, and used it to affect the
parameters of an external
effect(delay...harmonizers), by translating the
vocoder\'s signal into the effect\'s parameter
language(MIDI...logarithmic), it would be pretty
fucking awesome.
someone must have tried something like this, I
suppose the kaoss pad 3 would be a good
contender. just a little soldering and a basic
microprocessor.

I would think it would be doable...I mean, the
vocoder's already using one signal to effect
certain parameters of another...how hard could it
be to apply the same conversion to other settings?
And my hope would be that it would have some
interesting and musical glitches. For a
harmonizer, a pentatonic/chaotic switch would
probably come in handy, though.
My tune "Dearwood", posted
here
includes some
interesting and musical sons of glitches. What I
did was use a freeware pitch-to-MIDI package, a
freeware MIDI host, and a freeware Mellotron
emulator. That mess took a simple monophonic
synth lead and...thanks to the far-from-perfect
conversion...twisted it into a mad genius
freakout.
Happy accidents- what would life be without them?
