Thing is, if it weren't for drugs, some of the
best music ever made would've never been made.

drugs are great, especially for music. What
better way to open up a few new ideas than a
whole load of psychedelics and marijuana?

It's different for each individual; it's
different for each drug. That's one of the
biggest mistakes the huge, conscience-challenged,
money-grubbing "rehab" industry makes: treating
all people and all illegal drug use alike. Maybe
the term "mistake" doesn't really apply. It's one
of a tremendous number of examples of how little
regard they have for their "clients", and it
definitely places profits ahead of people.
At best, drug use's role in making music is as a
shortcut to a place that musician CAN otherwise
get to. At worst, it's a shortcut a musician
feels he/she can't work without.
:Leaf: is a good example of just how different
one illegal substance can be from another. There
have been a grand total of two long-term
hemp/longevity studies funded by the U.S.
government. Both had the same result: on average,
hemp smokers who didn't use prescription drugs
lived the longest, hemp smokers who used
prescription drugs comprised the middle, and the
shortest life spans were all among those who used
prescription drugs/didn't smoke hemp...no
surprise to Judge/Doctor Frances Young who, when
contracted by our fearless leaders to find
SOMETHING negative about hemp smoking that was
NOT a legal consequence, called hemp "possibly
the safest therapeutic substance known to man".

depending on which drugs you are talking about.
if it's about illegal like
, blow, lady meth -
yes they are bad however
does have some
medicinal properties which should be explored
further.
