Your strings of choice?

Alecs	Date: April 1, 2006 @ 2:21 PM What strings do you use? Personally I favor Ernie Ball 9-52 (the 52 is for the seventh string on my ibanez 7-string) I've been thinking about trying out SIT, but I've never found anywhere that sells 7-string sets. So...what're your favs?

EvilPicnic	Date: April 1, 2006 @ 4:11 PM D'Addario 9-42's for electrics, and their equivalent tension for nylon strings. But my current main guitar requires specialist strings for it's Steinberger 'Double Ball System'. I broke a string today, and so need to go up to Denmark Street to get my La Bella strings from the only place I know which does them. They're good, though, and setting up after breaking a string is easier and quicker than anything ever, just slot it in and fine tune - it literally takes 10 seconds.

EchoMinor	Date: April 1, 2006 @ 8:48 PM i use Elixir nanowebs .011 gauge, i have always loved a thicker string gauge, hell i may even go to .012. lights seem to limber and breakable for me.
leedsquietman	Date: April 2, 2006 @ 9:06 AM My strings of choice - The London Philharmonic Orchestra - oh, you mean guitar strings - anything medium guage .010, esp. Ernie Ball. Thicker strings make my wussy hands get all callousy but I resist going down to .009 as that sounds a little too thin for some applications.

advil	Date: April 16, 2006 @ 1:15 AM .008 in the studio, and thick as possible live. I tend to break strings. Whats kinda cool, is I have a 5-string (broken headstock) so for every set I put on it, I have the 008 left over for another guitar. See, throwing guitars isn't all bad.
GeneHilbert	Date: April 16, 2006 @ 2:26 AM words of advise: find your personal favorite brand of strings and gauge per guitar and use them exclusively. Set the pickups, action and intonation for those strings. Regardless of the performing situation, live or studio, your guitar will thank you, your recordings will thank you and your technique will thank you.

Alecs	Date: May 9, 2006 @ 10:18 PM User42, I've never tried Deans, personally. It may just be that the only player I know who uses Dean Markley is Yngwie and I'm not exactly a fan of his tone.
