It's been a while.. Looking to get a 4x12 cab. Any suggestions?

patrickbulch	Date: August 1, 2007 @ 11:58 AM Right now I will be running a super loud 40 watt all tube amp through it but I plan on eventually upgrading to a louder head (totally different topic). I am looking at a Marshhall 1960A cab but not totally sure yet. Wanting to get wicked metal and clean tones. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Distilled1	Date: August 2, 2007 @ 6:50 PM I like peavy scorpions I love the clean bright modern tone, as well as a great distortion running gain high and using effects for that wicked metal tone, I can also get a great deep blues deep tones with some knob tweaking. Im a peavy Solid state fan for twins, but went back in time and heres what I run. A Laney AOR 100 II on stereoed into 2 peavy twin chorus amps ( with the amp removed. open backs and set apart it gets a killer sound specially if your a delay freak like me
patrickbulch	Date: August 3, 2007 @ 10:10 PM Weird set up. I am just looking for something to run my Fender Deluxe Hot Rod through. Can't decide which 4x12 I want. Guess I'll have to test a few.
Distilled1	Date: August 4, 2007 @ 12:55 PM the 1960A is A nice cab. I would test some out a good store will let you try the head with diff. cabs so you can find what your looking for
zedsalt	Date: August 20, 2007 @ 10:52 PM I've been DYING to make a suggestion, but I was experiencing a little technical difficulty logging in. If I were in your shoes right now, I'd probably be in great pain, as I have freakishly wide feet, but that's not what I stopped by to talk about... Epiphone is marketing a 4X12 with Emminence speakers for a really reasonable price. I'd get one of those, sell three of the speakers, and go looking for three other cool 12s with different characteristics. Close-miking, you could pick and choose, and at a distance, I'd think you'd get a really sweet, complex tone. Or it might sound like an utter mess. But that's what I'd do.
