Frawgster	Date: February 7, 2002 @ 5:15 PM i tried this out on my puter at work (dsl)...it didnt do much for me. my connection speed went up about, oh, 5 or 6 percent. i think the fellow who built my box must've tweaked the registry settings before hand. im not even gonna bother with my home connection. dialup is kind of a lost cause
milladrive	Date: February 7, 2002 @ 6:35 PM That's true. heh Until this morning, my cable connection speed was always hovering between 700 and 1100Kb/s. I had always complained about my cable company's slow speeds and had always envied some friends' speeds w/other companies, but it was in my own rig the whole time. I still have no clue as to why our computers don't optimize this little setting by themselves, but that's another issue. I'm now getting between 2800 and 3500Kb/s ..like a good cable connection should be, and 3 to 4x what I was getting before the tweak. Surfing is still about the same aesthetically, but dl's are now noticeably hotter.
