zedsalt	Date: May 27, 2008 @ 3:18 AM It doesn't do what it's supposed to do (stop piracy), but then, it's so easily sidestepped that it also doesn't do what it's NOT supposed to do (stop legitimate sharing among small groups). The only thing DRM appears to be really effective at is making people feel better about distributing the fruits of their creative labors. That merits a smile, I figure.

Digital Rights Management - A total failure in attempts to secure and control digital media for a few companies to dictate how we listen to OUR music and watch OUR videos. Still, thank the internet for hackers and pirates.

One commonality I've noticed among the extremely bright is the willingness, the confidence, to ask questions. People who do very well on standardized tests of general intelligence tend to ask a lot of questions. The only time politicians and business managements types are uncomfortable responding to questions is when they're up to no good or not as knowledgeable regarding the topic at hand as they should be; for the rest of us, the querent just comes across as a great conversationalist. Oh, and I figure this thread started as a goof on the "Little Things About DM That Make You Smile" thread.
