povertystricken	Date: January 22, 2005 @ 1:56 AM Linux users I need some help. I'm interested in checking out the linux environment, I read some things about slax...it looked like a good way to get a taste without having to install a full version and hastle with a dual boot setup. I can't seem to get a slax pro or popcorn disk to boot. My bios is set to boot from cd-rom, any other bootable cd gives me the "press any key to boot from cd" option. I was under the impression that slax would run on a pc with windows installed (fat32 or ntfs). Now I can't even access slax.linux-live.org to look for answers (I'll try again tomorrow) Am I wrong, do I need to start with a blank hard drive? Did I get a corrupt download? Any help would be appreciated

I need Free Audio editing software for XP and Linux. Has anyone got any suggestions
pog	Date: February 3, 2005 @ 7:51 AM here :leopard:" id="125957">audacity the multitracker is free, it's developed under linux, and it's ported to windows also. Some linux distro's even come bundled with it. You can get it here
hueseph	Date: February 4, 2005 @ 8:28 PM Windosa does burn ISOs but you need a program like nero or sleazy cd creator to do it. You can download Mandrake linux for free. Also a very stable version of linux.A word of warning tho, Linux does not yet support wireless networks as far as I know. Also once installed on a dual boot system it's difficult to remove. So you will have to deal with the boot manager everytime regardless of whether or not you uninstalled linux.
