Where do you get your inspiration from?

ICF	Date: May 5, 2004 @ 4:11 PM There may be a forum here that says this but i cant see it!? Do you get inspired by a band, people, hell even food? What ever it is let us know
sqrlcub	Date: May 5, 2004 @ 4:18 PM I let inspiration take me wherever it hits. I used to take a lot of inspiration from listening to Scriabin's piano pieces and tried to make everything as analytical as possible. I later found that scenery, poetry, sculpture, paintings, really anything that is emotional tend to inspire me most. I find the emotions necessary to make a good piece come out the strongest with painting and poetry though.

Here are some more specific things (no particular order): - Other music, particularly melodies, harmonies, production techniques, and media anomalies (record pops, tape wow and flutter, etc.) - Science/math: it sounds weird, but these inspire me a lot. What would the sun's radiation sound like? One of my tracks contains just that. What would a certain equation sound like? These kinds of experiments give a lot of insight into music and science alike. - Everyday sounds: wow, that jackhammer rhythm was awesome! That bird just came up with a really cool melody. That jet whooshing overhead was really dramatic ... etc - Random objects. How could they be used in a musical context? - Other cultures - Photos, films, paintings, other visual art. I have a photo of my fiancee sitting on one of my studio monitors, and other photos and paintings all over the house. - Textures - People

Date: May 6, 2004 @ 11:33 AM You and Hendrix, My mates, gfs, Bob Dylan, THE WHO, Often its from somethin anyone will say and it sounds cool like contemporary letter by me is inspired by a temporary letter that my mother wrote to someone and she titled it contemporary letter because it wasnt finished.
blubat	Date: May 6, 2004 @ 12:02 PM Hmmm this is a fun question...we are such a varied group of people in our band that our inspiration comes from everywhere...i mean half the time well do something and well be like whoa where the hell did that come from...we shrug and then keep going...so i cant really describe the exact areas from where we get inspired...Alot of the time its past events, or it can also be the gland we have inside ourbrain that feeds an excessive amount of liquid cocaine into our systems...because half the time our shit is just messed. also farmer's bag tins...go see ryan william's (http:ryanwilliams.dmusic.net) picture of his tin of bag balm. so basically i have no idea so i wont say anything.

Ellingtron	Date: May 7, 2004 @ 10:24 PM Movies inspire me to play video games. Video games inspire me to get bored after so much of them. Bordom inspires me to leave the house and see humanity. Humanity inspires me to feel pain. Pain inspires me to write music. Writing music inspires me to watch movies.
