I tried out one drummer a while back and he seed "hey I have an idea...why don?t guitar players just take bass strings and put it on a guitar so they can get that pantera chungg chungg sound" I was just amazed by this sweet mans genius. another was this bass player(girl) who i caught going through my girlfreinds make up, stole my cat food(canned) and this is after 2 months of jamming with this person. she went from nice to insane real quick--but that is another story and then the singer try outs oh my oh my oh my............
sqrlcub	Date: May 14, 2004 @ 2:24 PM Ages ago I was looking for a bluegrass guitarist who could pick out basslines while I played chord solo harmonies. It is a style I taught a former friend to play in so we could play along together and it worked quite nicely. Anyway, I started looking for a jam buddy. I talked to many different people on the phone and I asked them all if they could read music, chord charts, real book etc. One of the people who said he could read both came over for a jam session. We played through a few songs that he knew with me playing along on them while sight reading out some chord solos. No problem there. What he didn't tell me was that was all he could play. He had a repertoire of three songs. The bits about reading music and chord charts were all a lie. He didn't even know the names of the chords he was playing. He had some teacher who taught him three songs by rote. This all became painfully obvious when we went to a song out of the Lomax book (big book of american folk songs if you don't know). It was a simple song in the same key as one of the other songs we had played earlier. You would think he would know the chords considering it had all the same ones in a different order. I figured from his playing that this wouldn't be a problem. He didn't know any of the chord's names so he couldn't play along. I played the rhythm parts trying to get him to pick out the solo bit (a very easy melody that was easier than the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star melody). It turns out he can't read music either. I showed him the melody and he played it alright when he watched me doing it exactly. He couldn't play it alone though. I thought he had it down so I went off it and just played the rhythm parts. He fell apart again. Then I played the rhythm parts and the melody at the same time. He couldn't follow that because he couldn't tell which string and finger were playing the melody but at least then he could beat out the rhythm. He was 25 years old or so at the time and he progressively got weepier and weepier. The few hours we played together ended with him crying his eyes out. This was more an audition/jam session horror story but that is close enough.
Intergalacti...	Date: May 14, 2004 @ 4:23 PM I'm in one band where they all have too big egos apart from the bloody drummer who doesnt have enough of an ego. They're all a bunch opf twats. The guitarist he will only do things his way if theres someone elses idea in a song he will not accept it (this is quite hard for him seein as i write the lyrics for the songs). Secondly the singer, he's taller than everyone else thinks he can sing (My god you should hear him fortunately you can't be ause on our only single we took his singin part out because it was so bloody awful so its basically an instrumental), also because he's taller than everyone he thinks he should have the most respect and bullies people round all the time and if someone answers back he'l have a huge go at them. The bassist can be ok on times but when he's with his friends he can be sooooo bloody annoyin. I can't say too much about him cos his sister is on this website. And then the drummer the guy that is really scared of everythin. He's annoyin because he'll just poke you with a pen or use a stapler on yuor trousers and when you ask him to stop he wont stop but when you punch him he will stop but then he'll start cryin about how much it hurt and just go on and on. The worst band I've ever been in but by a stroke of luck I think they've chucked me out so drinks all round. (Of course all of them are to pussy to tell me properly they just joke about it and hope I take the hint, I just hope they take the hint that I don't give a shit)

Emoceon	Date: May 25, 2004 @ 5:42 PM nickelback is awesome, they sound the same because that is there style...and maybe its because its the same people playing together? its kind of like when you can listen to a song for 10 seconds and automatically know the band...its there signiture.
