Amon Tobin

Cantido	Date: September 13, 2005 @ 10:14 AM I fell in love with the irresistably-spooky beats of Amon Tobin when my job recieved a CD with 3 sample tracks from the videogame "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory." My favorite album is Supermodified, and my favorite song is Deo. There are two tracks for download here. http://www.epitonic.com/artists/amontobin.html A nice thing is, Magnetbox deemed Amon Tobin and his label Ninjatune NON-RIAA. So I eventually snatched up all his albums without regret. Now that I like "whatever the hell Amon Tobin's genre is," what other artists are out there like him?

I own most of his cds, and i worship him like a god. the label he is on, ninja tune, is also my favorite label, check out the stuff on there. Few artists are quite like him, but you might like: prefuse 73, four tet, bonobo (like a laid back amon tobin), and some animals on wheels stuff. once again, amon tobin is way ahead of his time, so nobody is quite like him. He also recorded under the name cujo and released "adventures in foam" before he was amon tobin. dont worry about the label being RIAA or not, if its good its good. The genre your looking for is somewhere between trip hop, jazz, IDM, and jungle, but it cannot be pidgeonholed as any one of these.
