furiousBall	Date: January 14, 2004 @ 11:43 AM Miles, Larry Coryell, Al Dimeola, John McLaughlin, Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea, Coltrane, Pat Metheny, George Benson, Dave Brubeck (a whole album in 5/4! - Take 5), Cannonball Adderly (somethin' else - album he did with miles is just about the most brilliant recording ever), Stan Getz & João Gilberto (if you include that as jazz), Charlie Byrd, Branford and Wynton Marsalis yesterday Mux introduced me to Matthew Shipp - brilliant, brilliant stuff.

Refused to be pidgeonholed by those "fans" who refused to let him and his music evolve. If he had listened to them he may as well have hocked his trumpet and got a 9 to 5 job.

monsquaz	Date: January 18, 2004 @ 1:08 PM Jazz is one of those flexible genres where I can enjoy all the music. So, all of them are great. But Miles Davis and Fela Kuti are probably the two I'm most familiar with right now.
