gtisquad	Date: April 3, 2004 @ 1:12 PM Anybody know where I can get good string samples? I've got Fruity Loops and the strings on that aren't exactly what I'm looking for.
Order	Date: April 3, 2004 @ 2:53 PM Depends on how much you want to spend... I know that the Garritan Personal Orchestra is the best sample set I've ever heard but its a little pricey. I think East/West makes a decent one as well.

Jesuszilla	Date: April 5, 2004 @ 1:14 PM Reason 2.5 has nice strings, plus you can get 2 extra refills, can't remember their names, that have loads more classical samples/instruments.
Apertome	Date: April 5, 2004 @ 2:56 PM Eww, Reason's strings blow, IMO. Dunno about those extra refills. Full disclosure: I grew up playing the violin. I hate basically all synthesized strings. Sampled strings usually don't work well, either, but can be done well. The Garritan ones are supposed to be really good. I would go with that, or maybe look for some REX loops of strings, you would get much better phrasing than with most sample libraries, I think.
Jesuszilla	Date: April 5, 2004 @ 3:39 PM I quite like them. One of the ReFills is taken from a proper orchestra. I like them mainly for more simple stuff. Check this song out http://files.yojutsu.com/jesuszilla/1jesuszillakraken.mp3 , around 55 seconds in - just a little example of some alright sounding strings, I think, although they can sound far better than in that (old) song of mine. Depends on whether you just want string samples or a whole new music program, though.
