Yo, I'm new ... kind of

gg2112	Date: April 12, 2005 @ 11:21 AM I just actually started participating in dmusic recently... Also I would like advice/opinions on what makes a good song? Personally (and sadly...) I love every single type of music there is... so I dunno what everyone else really prefers. Especially when it comes to electronic music... Should it have a constant tune or change a little throughout the song, do you like variety like that? Do you want vocals, no matter how good they sound (it's the lyrics that matter, right? ) or should there definitely be quality in the voice? ... And then what about rhythm... And instruments used... Seriously, I wanna know what you all think. You WERE probably thinking, "Hey look a newbie I will welcome them" earlier and now you think either, "Aww a poll, damn newbs, I'm out" or "Hey look a poll I will be apart of it and speak out" Whoa this is a long message. But I just wanna know what everyone here at dmusic thinks, especially the newbs... MUAHAHAHAHANEWBSHAHAHAHA!! Evil laughter -G
zedsalt	Date: April 12, 2005 @ 12:09 PM For me, personally, worrying about what anyone else is going to think of my material is a HUGE block to creating it. My only advice is seek to please yourself with your music first and foremost. You'll make the best, most honest and personal music you're capable of that way, and there will ALWAYS be people who find resonance in your work.

Alexsy	Date: May 8, 2005 @ 7:29 PM i'm not sure it's possible to understate the value of what Zed just said. that is vital. in terms of electronic music, the thing i like the most is really "atmospheric" type of stuff. you know, big sweeping synth sounds ... i kind of have an affinity for big, sweeping, swirling sounds ...
