if you make a song where your playing rythem AND
lead, would you record yourself playing rythem
and then record yourself again playing lead while
listening to yourself playing rythem?
or would you use a metrinome to keep in sync with
yourself?
cause when i do that i seem to always be like a
quarter second or so off and it screws the whole
thing up... any help would be appreciated.

I WAS just listening to my rhythm then recording
a lead over it...
NOW I have a metronome in the back and listen to
it when I record...

First use metronome when you record the rhytym
track. When that's done, record the lead over it.
You don't need metronome when you record the
lead, if you have a good timing. Allthough, I
suggest using it if you're not used to
multi-tracking.

use earphones to listen as you record..
the delay you experiance..
could be caused by the recording device picking
up the speaker out put as you play along with a
recorded track..
