ChillinBuzz	Date: June 5, 2007 @ 11:36 PM I read up a little and went on uTorrent 1.6.1 - Also signed up to The Pirate Bay and started seeding my music. http://thepiratebay.org/user/Buzzomatic/ So, what torrent application(s) do you use and if you're an artist, do you use the torrent network to spread your own music?
hantu	Date: June 6, 2007 @ 12:05 AM I also use utorrent, although i used to use Azureus. Azureus would have 2 processes running for some reason, one called "java.exe". This setup worked great for a good while, but for some reason "java.exe" would start peeking the cpu load I decided to search for a solution, utorrent ended up being that solution. Haven't had any problems with utorrent until recently with opening my ports for it (which once upon a time worked perfectly), but this may not be an issue with utorrent I do not use the torrent network to spread my music, although i have thought about it for a while. It's cool what you done. I'm going to go meet half naki 20 year old girls from my area now. : shill :
ChillinBuzz	Date: June 6, 2007 @ 9:50 AM I'm sure you won't mind the half naked girls though none of them seem to be anywhere near me, so that ad is crap. Only port problems I've had is when the router's uPnP facility decides to go balls up and everything stops downloading properly or at all. If your router is uPnP compliant it should open ports automatically for apps that are compliant, uTorrent being one. I think we should get more DMusic onto the torrent network, the bandwidth charges alone are a little less.
hantu	Date: June 7, 2007 @ 1:13 AM Azureus is all different Vuze (Azureus 3) - There is an Audio section, there are independent artists on there, this is interesting.
NickSawyer	Date: June 7, 2007 @ 2:54 PM I use BitTorrent and for torrent searches/uploads TorrentValley.com is my choice. I never thought of spreading my music on torrents (not until Alstroph's idea for DMusic torrents), but that's a great way to do it
ChillinBuzz	Date: June 11, 2007 @ 6:30 PM Well from the dates of the two threads ( http://www.dmusic.com/forum/music/26830 ) it looks like several of us are getting the same ideas around the same time. The biggest benefits are that you could reach a much larger audience as well as reduce the bandwidth here.
