Waves H2O Try Before You Buy (free waves plugins)

joshman86	Date: February 6, 2007 @ 5:51 AM Hello, I'v downloaded some waves plugins that say H2O try before you buy on em. I was just wondering if anybody knew where they come frome and what H2O is? They work great I just wish I knew more about them (h2o that is) Message me for any questions or plugin request.

Date: February 6, 2007 @ 8:58 PM yup, for a 100 bucks no less and a similar fcktard wanted 200 dollars for them at the ableton forum and denied they were not legit until someone was at the guys home and saw the dreaded h20 'try before you buy' and then the guy tried to tell him that Native allow h20 to 'use them as demos' to get the word out for their plugs, these 'demos' while not officially endorsed are 'accepted' by Native as a sales generation tool !!!!!! (the only tool would be anyone who spent 100, 200 bucks on them etc) What I don't understand here is that someone who can afford to run a digi 002 and PT (you might be able to crack the software but cracking a hardware interface is another thing) would run h20 stuff - you can't look like a pro set up if you're running free 'try as you buy' plugins off bittorrent, credibility would be zero for anyone who knew better. if you can afford a digi 002 you should be able to afford the bona fide waves plugs complete with manuals, box and usb key from Native. they might seem like they run fine but h2o's stuff has been known to cause many a HD reformat (have you ever tried uninstalling the things) and even if the plugs sound like they're working usually many functions don't work properly. It's a group of russian crackers who do this stuff for shts and giggles fer chrissakes! Steinberg said SX3 was uncrackable and H20 very quickly set about trying to prove Steinberg wrong and released a whole set of bastardized versions that crashed every time you altered a samplerate, insert plugs didn't work, offline processing didn't work and hard drive reinstalls were common. You use h20 stuff at your own risk and if you're gonna use it, it's widely available for free at your friendly file sharing site....

They're really cool guys, they even include this thing to get rid of WGA validation and slipstreamed updates! Do you have to be hit over the head before you realize that life is not that good, and that these things cost money? The only people in this equation who deserve to be bent over, are digidesign - not Waves.

That way, ain't nobody's fault but your own if you fuck it up... and if you progress to that of an 1337 H4xx0R you can get a free buttfuck from your cellmate when you get caught and sent to prison by the nasty people who enforce the law i dunno why people would try that stuff anymore or even spend shitloads of money on software, you can get professional sounding tunes now with stuff that's FREE to buy. i got offered Wavelabs for nothing a few months ago, being a friend and knowing the other person gets upset easier than a hormonal dipshit on Jerry Springer, i accepted. it transferred fairly quickly, matched by an even quicker transfer into binary hell. as i said earlier, you can do this stuff for free if you are prepared to sit and work hard at it.

And I must also admit, that the new L316 available only in the $7500 Mercury bundle sounds mighty tasty. a bundle i'd own if it cost $750.00 cheers, T

Date: February 18, 2007 @ 3:46 PM I also used it before buying Cubase SX3 (as there is no demo available from Steinberg) it didn't do any lasting damage for me, except inserts/offline processing didn't work properly and changing a samplerate crashed it every time but I know people who have had there computer severely wrecked by the stuff, so as said before use at your own risk. I agree with you T that sometimes companies invite this on themselves by way overpricing their product, I don't think the Waves bundles are worth half of what they cost, you can buy PSP and Voxengo plugins that cost a lot less and sound great (imho they often sound better than waves plugs). Like I said before, I don't think it's worth the hassle and potential troubles and would rather do with 'lesser' software. And when you consider that Reaper is 40 US Dollars, why bother with flaky cracks of Cubase and Sonar etc... For some people it wouldn't matter if Cubase SX or Logic Pro cost 99 dollars, anything more than 99 cents will lead them to the torrents and the lottery of warezed software...
