How can I Watermark Audio?

How can I Watermark Audio?
I have been working with creating my own samples
and they can be anything from electronic
creations to real instrument notes or chords or
vocal slices or speech slices or phonemes or any
sound at all like a distress call of a squirrel
or whatever.
Anyway I got to thinking hey man these are mine I
do not mind people getting them and even using
them free of charge unless they are like in a
movie or used in a hit and make lots of money
from it or something but how will I know for sure
it was my sample.
I know you can tag MP3’S and some other files I
guess but that can be removed and besides when it
is used in a mix that will not be there anyway.,
So I figure that if I can somehow water mark it
in a way that is non - interfering to it’s
function I can know it is my sample .
Is there a way to do that ? Or maybe a program
that will watermark or signature audio?
I do not want tp encrypt it or lock it I want the
audio usable . I want the watermark it to be
unnoticeable - almost undetectable.
Thank you.

the only thing i can think of is to either do a
low render of the file or maybe put in some hiss
which can be heard but not disrupt the audio to
much or a beep or click

Well thanks for the advice that is about what I
may have to do.
I did some checking since I posted that and there
is such a program I guess maybe there are several
and at least three techniques , pretty advanced
stuff to me but I tried and I tried but the
program keeps crashing ,
I could not afford it anyway assuming I can even
figure out how to use it or exactly what they
are talking about , I get the basic idea though.
The price is around $80 to $1200 .
I guess I Could afford 80 but still I am not sure
that would support my needs I think they said the
audio had to be at least a couple seconds in
length and some samples would be much shorter and
also the price is relative to the amount of
electronic signatures , I guess one would be
enough though as long as nobody knew what it was
when you think about it.
The serial number of the program in connection
with the code produces a unique code that can
only be detected by that program.
Anyway here is what I found on the net.
Frankly I am not so sure that even though this is
some very advanced stuff this is not in the alpha
stage of development like DVD ‘s the technology
does not always work the way it was intended to .
BUT someday , yes someday it will.
Again thanks for your help elektronz
