Israfel	Date: September 30, 2006 @ 11:51 PM the best way I can describe it is the way I was taught to find it. Practice singing while standing...place your hand over your diaphragm...just below your ribs, above your stomach...take a deep breath and hold a tone. You'll feel it. Keep doing that, practicing and feeling it. After you're comfortable with that, try some songs. Pay attention to the breathing and how it feels in your diaprhagm. It takes some practice but you'll get it.

Say it so a room the size of a gym can hear it……… LOUDLY…… HHHHHHEEEEEYYYYY!!!!!! Hold it…………. Now.... add a pitch to it, then syllables, words and phrases. You will learn to control it………. Soft to……. LOUD to…….. REALLY LOUD……. To soft again……. Use the vowels A, E, I, O, U ……. Hold them…….. as long as you can…….. The way I have always done it - is to perform the Heimlich while having someone whole a note. It's that extra air that projects. The muscles you use while running, biking, playing tennis, weight lifting..... deep breathing. Not your throat…….. your diaphragm……. Look at any opera singer…. Look at the size of their chest…… that is no accident…… Note……. If at any time you feel a sharp pain in your throat…….. STOP singing & rest your throat….. if you do not cease - it is possible to cause severe and possibly permanent damage to your larynx.
Saheart	Date: October 19, 2006 @ 12:53 AM I think one way is to start representing your {singing instrument} as being more than just your mouth and throat..it goes deeper than that and it takes time to develop. It's all about relaxing, giving yourself time and trusting your body is already programmed to be able to sing from the diaphragm! jewsus	Date: October 20, 2006 @ 1:10 AM one of my ex's had one of these thingies. i think you just put some lube on it, bend it in half, and shove it straight up there. i'm not quite sure if that's how she did it. she usually went to the bathroom to put it in. but i'm pretty sure that's how that works. with a little practice i'm sure you'll figure it out. though i'm not too sure why you're wanting to sing with it in there. that's not exactly what those are for.
