So my singing just took a turn for the worst...

Ever since I go back from my holiday (about a
month ago now) my singing doesn't seem to be as
good as it usually is. I had a bad cough and woke
up each morning with a killer sore throat when I
was on holiday.
Normally every wednesday or every other wednesday
I go to dancing and practice my song and dance
(Nowadays from Chicago) but ever since I got back
from holiday i seem to miss th high notes and
rarely start in key. Iss it one of those things I
just have to keep practcing before i get my voice
back up to standard, or will it stay like this?
Oh and, to get rid of unwanted phlegm its go
dairy free right? Tis affecting my breathing...

If you've had a bad cough and a sore throat it's
to be expected that you won't be able to sing as
well as usual for a while. I'd say give your
voice for a week or two to heal itself and you'll
be fine.
If you have a lot of phlegm this is bound to
affect your voice too. You'd perhaps be surprised
at how much giving up daily can help. Go a while
without it and I'm sure you'll see a difference.
Alcohol isn't very good for your voice either (I
don't know if you drink much or anything) and
obviously smoking isn't good either.

yeah I've never smoked, alcohol is a rare thing
too (such a good girl me)
dairy should be pretty easy to give up, looks
like tis back to rice milk
